Volunteer

We have 150 acres of natural bushland and sanctuary grounds, which means constant upkeep and maintenance.

Here are some suggested volunteer activities to give you an idea about how you can help us and create a beautiful environment for our animals, staff and guests.

Animal Care: Animal care is not all about cuddling the animals, there is a never ending list of refurbishing enclosures, food preparation , creating enrichments, and cleaning. If you are willing to commit to one or more days a week/ fortnight, the staff will be willing to train you among their busy schedule, this is also a good opportunity if you are wanting to be a zookeeper or work in animal care in the future.

Building: We have a long list of building opportunities from making nest boxes for our animals, to making a kids nature based ranger cubby house for our playground.

Gardening: If you have a green thumb, are keen on developing a veggie patch for our wildlife, help resurrect our native garden walk, or develop some of our sanctuary gardens.

Historian: Do you love tractors, or coal mine history we would love to resurrect the area around our coal mine, and our tractor always loves to be driven.

Guest Relations:  Do you love chatting to people? Your more than welcome to spend the day in our sanctuary grounds, showing people the right way to feed our kangaroos, or share little bits of information and stories of the resident animals to our guests.
